In 1661 Henry Jermyn, Earl of St. Albans and former Ambassador to Paris and The Hague obtained a grant of Crown land from Charles II to develop a residential neighbourhood in the area known as St James\u2019s Field.<\/p>\n
Jermyn Street has been the home to many distinguished residents during its time, including influential scientist Sir Isaac Newton, William Pit and, Sir John Churchill the 1st Duke of Marlborough.<\/p>\n
During World War II, Jermyn Street was damaged by a Luftwaffe parachute mine, and several of the buildings around the Tricker\u2019s Jermyn Street store suffered severe damage, with some being destroyed. Our store thankfully survived the explosion.<\/p>\n
