SKIVING

Skiving leather is the painstaking process of thinning leather, where only the outer edges are thinned, to achieve the thickness that is required. This allows for the edges to be folded or stitched onto other parts of the footwear. This is a hand process at Tricker’s, where we use a skiving knife for and not machines.
