WALTER JAMES BARLTROP

Born in 1840, Walter was very much ahead of his time and age. At just seven years old, he created a modern boot.

While simple in its execution, it set the path for waterproof country shoes and boots that make Tricker’s famous today.

In 1862, Walter married Joseph Tricker’s daughter Clara Louise and subsequently became the head of R. E. Tricker & Co.

Walter lived to the ripe old age of 85.
